As for me, I'm still working on convincing someone to come play Giant Jenga with me at Villians Tavern, but assume I'll end up hanging with the slutty hipsters at Bigfoot. Tomorrow it's a jump onto the Liquor Treating wagon & hopefully cooking up an awesome cupcake & cocktail pairing. Sunday night is Aidan Demarest's Degenerate's Ball at his Glendale hotspot Neat, and Monday as always is a trip down memory lane via the West Hollywood Halloween Parade.
And since I've flown the way of the twitter bird, you can always follow my mis-adventures @nicolemiizuka!!

Two of downtown L.A.'s best bars, Villians Tavern & The One-Eyed Gypsy are hosting an all out Halloween extravaganza complete with 12 bands playing on various stages, carnival food, boozy punch, outdoor bars, fooseball, skee-ball, tarot cards, palm readings, photobooths, bacon caramel popcorn & what I'm calling now as the best part of the event, Giant Jenga. I mean, Giant Jenga, c'mon people. That sounds amazing!! There will be a free shuttle bus between the two locations & a portion of all the proceeds will go to Sunset Free Clinic. At Villains Tavern & The One-Eyed Gypsy Downtown http://www.villainstavern.com/

They're going to attempt to break the world record for the number of costumed dogs in a parade. The parade is expected to include more than 500 costumed dogs and a few thousand human gawkers. Haute Dogs will raise thousands for spay/neuter programs, rescue groups, Operation Santa Paws and other Long Beach service projects. In addition to all the adorable pups, there will be pre-party "feast"-ivities starting at 12:30 that will include vendor booths for the owners, bobbing for Howl'oweenies, a dog treat stacking contest, a Bulldog Kissing Booth, fun contests, a pet adoption fair, photo opportunities, and a guess-the-weight of the HUGE pumpkin contest. 4900 E Livingston Dr, Long Beach, CA 90803 http://hautedogs.org/howloween.html

Hands down my favorite outdoor screening series in Los Angeles, the Barnsdall Art Park movies are back & kicking off with Nightmare on Elm Street this Sunday. Bring a blanket and a picnic to enjoy outdoor screenings on the West Lawn of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Hollyhock House, perched on the beautiful Olive Hill at Barnsdall Park. All screenings are 17+ to attend and 21+ to drink. Tickets are $25 for entry + 3 drinks or $10 for just the movie. All profits from the screening will benefit Barnsdall Art Park Foundation programs and projects, such as Free Sunday Art Classes for children and families in the community, as well as capital projects like the Monument Sign and restoration of the Hollyhock Motor Court. Barnsdall Art Park is located at 4800 Hollywood Boulevard, Los Angeles, California 90027 http://www.barnsdall.org/events-2/outdoor-movies/
